:: Fash Fresh Monday_Uniqlo +J is here! ::

In case you forgot, the uber worthy Uniqlo +J collection has arrived on our shores and are being snapped up before you can say “What?”

Yes! The lush, pretty simple yet elegant designs that suits ever closet and style, easy to match, simple yet elegant luxe wear from Jil Sanders + Uniqlo collaboration is finally on our shores, at Uniqlo’s third branch in Singapore, and also known to be its largest flagship store here.

While I was there yesterday, the queues were maddening and confusing and irritatingly long, and I can’t help but almost shouted at people. But hey, the staff are nice and friendly, but the customers (read loud and arrogant, alright, AUNTIES), were horrible, snatching and flipping things like it was the market.. Bleah!

The 42.195km (comparatively la huh, incredibly long) long queue to the fitting rooms and cashiers were.. omg! and as with all Singaporeans who do not know what treasure is, all were flocking towards the cheap discounted jeans (which I also wanted but could find it in the right size, sadly) and sweaters.. (grab so many for what, this is Singapore leh, “winter” will be over soon lo.). But, also, like most typical Singaporeans with no taste not much of a fashion sense to speak of, the entire section of +J collection was almost left barren. What a pity. But all the better for me!!!

Posh, designer class blazers, sweatshirts, work tops and bottoms were all on display, with an air of elegance. These beautifully simple pieces in basic raw colours were going for less than S$200!! Wow wow wow!

But being a poor student, as much as I wish I can afford, but unfortunately, not at the moment. My bad debts are chasing me… Nono.. So, I shall wait.

Here I am sharing with you this awesome find, please do go take a look, but, don’t buy all ok! Leave a few pieces for me:)

On a sidenote, on the pre-opening night (after the Uniqlo From Tokyo to Singapore fashion show), truckloads of guest and journalists and VIPs were transported in buses from Ritz Carlton Millenia to 313@Somerset, and upon arrival, they all made a beeline for the +J Collection. (And guests and media were each given a $100 voucher.)

Damn! I was meant to be there. I just plain forgot. Thanks to my heavy workload. Alright. Gotta go do my assignment and continue dreaming about owning the gorgeous suit from +J!

(To take a peak at the collection, look at my previous post about the +J Collection, all pieces are available now!)

:: Fash Fresh Mondays _ Preview on whats new at Somerset! ::

All the buzz going on with the two new shopping places opening up at our very own somerset front, I can’t help but give a full report on it.

With the mega Uniqlo making waves at 313@Somerset, and Y-3 and Bread and Butter making people coo at the revived, hip and happening Mandarin Gallery, I will just have to make my way down to check out what other great finds there are, any must buy or places that are must visit by cool dudes, and what things are new and worth checking out!

Next Monday, join me as we go uncover the brand new somerset stretch and what it has to offer.

:: Fashionisiac Blasts in December! ::

Welcome back to Fashionisiac!

We have loads of articles and news in store, and goodies to be given away right here on Fashionisiac!

Tell all your friends, especially the style concious males, to look outĀ for newest trends and styles, as well as what to look out for in the new season.

As 2009 comes to a close, look out for a big blast from a local indie label right here on Fashionisiac!

I and my team have so much instored for you, the fashionistas, and to kick it off, we have an exclusive hair treat for all!

In this age and time, everyone has a tinge of colour on their hair. Be it subtle colours of brown and mahogany, to daring bright red and orange tinge, or for the bold, flashy silver (or ash) and blonde.

And as most guys have relative short hair, it makes quite abit of sense to colour your own hair in your very own home, and its fuss free and simple!

With just half an hour needed, I go for Gatsby Mens’ Hair colour.

Gatsby Mens’ Hair Colur range comes in an attractive range of hues, from cool ash, to exotic orange and rose, and you don’t need to worry about the post effects of the chlorine.

The hair colours are safe on most hair types and scalp conditions, and are easy to use. You only need to mix the two tubes and bottles, and voila, you can start dying your hair right in the middle of your own home. Leave it on for 20 - 30 minutes until you obtain a visible result or your optimum colour, then you can start rinsing it off!

Gatsby exclusive range of hair bleach and colour provides pretty hair colour, is long-lasting, and leaves a natural, beautiful shine. (And not streaky and uneven hair thereafter like other hair products). Its crystal formulation produces hair colour with a moist shine and sparkling clearness. It also repairs damage, and is moisturizing, so you feel safe colouring your beloved tresses.

Pair with everyone’s favourite Gatsby styling products like its wax, clay and moving rubber, the dowdy looking mane on your head can instantly transform into a funky piece. Especially Gatsby Moving rubber.

Gatsby Moving rubber has been a staple in my styling goods choice. I especially like the pink tumbler ones, providing strong spikes and ultimate hold when I have ultra short hair like now.

I was recently recommended the grey coloured one by my stylist, who offered that my new cut should be paired with something that is dandy, matt and cool. Average-strong hold will be needed to keep my strands down, and yes it did, adding that wonder look to my head each day.

And no looks will be a trouble if you put your trust onto Gatsby’s elite and professional team of Japanese stylemasters. With step by step guide, the styles are easily achievable with just a small slab of Gatsby styling rubber, just the way your friendly stylist will do it for you after each session.

Now here’s the great part, to kick it off, Fashionisiac will be giving away 2 Gatsby Hair colour and 2tubs of Gatsby Moving rubber to wonderful readers of Fashionisiac. Now, just think of why YOU deserve to have a new hair colour, or what bold trendy styles you want for your hair (a new hair cut paired with wonderful Gatsby moving rubber might do the work). Keep your thoughts going, and more details on how to win your very own box of colour or tub of rubber will be here tomorrow!

:: Monday (fash) blues - fat big thighs ::

FBTs are NICE. I admit. I have a collection of them.

But as they are created, its meant soley for sports. And should only be seen on the sports field or outback. Really.

I don’t understand why people wear FBTs to school or even to town. Did you just run to school? Or are you dashing through town (ala Santa Claus?).

Please change out of your sports attire (Adidas top with fbts or other sports shorts) after your training. Its really an eyesore, alright.

And also, please change into your sports attire when you are going for your training.

DON’T wear them the WHOLE DAY! It doesn’t make you look sporty, it makes you look sloggish and sloppy.

And it applies to both male and female.

(But males who want to wear FBTs with “taste”, try the white shorts (above knee length), that looks good, with the right attire and shoes/flipflops.)
